I’m a freelance beauty editor and fashion and lifestyle copywriter.

My media career began when I was ‘spotted’ by Vogue’s bookings editor and became a model. I appeared on the catwalk  for John Galliano, ‘played’  in Robert Palmer’s band in one of his iconic music videos, worked with photographers Robert Erdmann, Terence Donovan, Andrew Macpherson and Anton Corbijn, and appeared in The Face and Vogue.

I became beauty editor at Just 17 when it was one of the biggest selling titles in the country, and I’ve written for Marie Claire and Marie Claire H&B. I’ve had a health and beauty column in The Independent, and written for Sugar (as acting deputy editor) and Top Sante. I’ve art directed more photo shoots than I can count, from makeovers in EC1 to beach shoots in Miami.

I was shortlisted for a PPA Columnist of the Year award for my Just 17 page  and won Fashion & Beauty Writer of the Year at the EMAP awards. I was also shortlisted for Features Writer of the Year.

As a freelance copywriter I have created promotional material for Twentieth Century Fox and currently write for high profile brands including House of Fraser and M&S, as well as working with niche and start up brands. I also write the beauty page for Surrey Life and this blog is my new career baby so I am always on the look out for great beauty and lifestyle stories (PRs take note!)

I live in Surrey and have three daughters and a very small cat.

Finally, if you need help with copy for your blog or marketing project,  if you commission beauty or lifestyle features and want to discuss ideas or if you need some advice on how to get the media to notice your business, then please get in touch.

    Good morning
I have read the article by Jane Alexander in the Daily Telegraph, dated 26/6/2010 about fake tans. I am not sure if the quote regarding the link between Parabens and breast cancer is yours or Jane’s but I think that the link is not proven in any way at all. The work done on this has been discredited and if you want greater detail on this I would refer you to Dene Godfrey at S Black who is an acknowledged as an expert on this subject.

    Regards
    Howard Taylor

Thanks for your comment. The quote regarding the link between parabens and breast cancer wasnt mine, but I know this possible link is a concern to many people so I am sure your reference will be of great interest.
